TDiff Calibration

Select date and radar to calculate a daily TDiff calibration value.
The form requires a date input in the format of YYYY-MM-DD and a selected radar. This TDiff calibration tool expoits the low-angle porpagation mode and well defined range interval of E-layer echoes. Elevation angle is expected to approach zero at the furthest ranges of the E-layer, from this we can match the observed phase distribution with a simulated distribution using a statistical model of the E-layer to extract the calibration value.

pyDARN and pyDARN online allows the user to enter a new tdiff value when plotting summary and range-time plots to improve the accuracy of the data.
